Pnina Shavit , Shunit Reiter Abstract In this book , the authors propose a teaching method called the Cycle of Internalized Learning model . This model facilitates a structured framework of meaningful and relevant teaching – for both special education and regular students . The book focuses on methods of educating and teaching that have been developed for students with varying degrees of complex difficulties as a result of which they are defined as learners with special needs . The latter include , for instance , cognitive disability , cerebral palsy , physical disability , disabilities on the autism spectrum , mental and behavioral disturbances , learning difficulties , and complex sensory difficulties . These students study in a variety of educational settings : some of them study in discrete special education settings , others learn as cohorts in inclusive settings in regular schools , and yet others are included in regular classrooms on an individual basis .
