Abraham Ibn Ezra and Sa'adia on Hebrew Grammar

Angel Saenz-Badillos Prof . Aron Dotan made a distinguished contribution to the history Hebrew philology by publishing the preserved part of Saadia ' s treatise . In this paper in Prof . Dotan ' s honor I would like to discuss Saadia ' s work was known to another notable Hebrew philologist twelfth century , Abraham Ibn Ezra , what was his opinion about him what extent both of them - Ibn Ezra and Saadia - agreed or some basic questionsof grammar . Two centuries after Saadia ' s death Abraham Ibn Ezra , the scholar , got acquainted with his work . He mentioned him many biblical commentaries . However , in his grammatical treatises - work in defense of the Gaon against Adonim ha-Levi - he quotes views only few times . Leaving aside purely exegetical or questions , we shall focus here on some general linguistic considerations on few grammatical topics about which both linguists expressed points of view .
