The new MoMA , which has taken $ 858 million and two and a half years to reconstruct , is magnificent ; in fact , it is an inspiring monument to the creative spirit of man . While crossing the spacious lobby , which connects 53 and 54 Streets , to reach the galleries on the upper floors , we find ourselves facing a splendid , soaring glass facade , through which the famous old sculpture garden appears against the backdrop of a wide-angle view of the New York skyline .
