At the Turn of the Century : The era of installation is over and Israeli art is on the brink of a nervous breakdown And so , a season marked by an excess of bad installations in Israeli art is coming to an end . Hiriya in the Museum is not just the title of one of the most important exhibitions cu rated in Tel Aviv in recent years . Now at least it seems that many more people are aware of the ecological problem and of the Hiriya site , even those who are not ordinarily into garbage . And this title , almost mystically , serves as a natural metaphor for the state of local art as well . After the installation attack of ArtFocus , the word "installation" itself seems to have lost its positive meaning . Misunderstanding of the term culminated with the installations recently brought together at the Haifa Museum under the title "The Triennial of the Installation " .
