It is available and exposed , and at the same time , filled with enigma . It is rich in detail , and at the same time , plain and ordinary . The enigmas of the everyday are unlike others ; they conceal no secret , they hide nothing . Rather , they speak differently : in a direct , open , often excessive manner . The enigmatic nature of the everyday is , thus , linked with the presentation of things : with a mythological story , a fictional truth . Like allegory which employs public speech in order to say something else , " other " . Other ( or A Group of Russians Standing in Line ) The presentation of things in everyday is unique , since the everyday is a "theater of illustration " : a theater presenting " tautologies " .
