523 Summary and the Main Conclusions Solomon’s coronation and the first years of his reign, on the one hand ; and on the other, he added large sections to the book : most of the last chapters ( 2 Sam 21 – 24 ) as well as the stories about Eli and his sons, Samuel and his sons, and the story of Saul and his son Jonathan ( 1 Sam 1 – 15 ) . Then he edited another part dealing with Saul and David and Ishbosheth, Saul’s successor and David . All the changes promote this scribe’s agenda, that power corrupts and also that the principle of dynasty is a very bad idea as proved by the above four various leaders and their sons . The combination of both points of view imparts the MT Book of Samuel its depth and unfolds various characters in the struggle with their desires and life predicaments . Later, for many generations, the book underwent small changes by scribes and copyists, and was after wards slightly edited by the so - called the “Deuteronomistic School”, whose scribes took upon themselve...  אל הספר
