Even today, when kibbutz youth is more like other high school graduates elsewhere, their future concerns them less than it does their city peers . Many want the chance to try life outside the kibbutz, in a less binding framework . Most students appear to have reached a decision after deliberating and weighing options, following a moratorium period of searching and investigation, satisfying needs for new, liminal experiences not necessarily connected with studies . However, one cannot ignore a minority that neither plans nor deliberates, and begins to study in the spirit of "What will be, will be .
