VIIIENGLISH ABSTRACTS On Some Words in Two of the Dead Sea Scrolls ) בעורה / b ˁ wrh , רעדודיה / r ˁ dwdyh , פתיל / ptyl ( Moshe Bar - Asher In this article I treat three words that appear in two Qumran texts, and in ) חגורו ( discuss their meanings : ( 1 ) The word ptyl , interpreted as “belt” the Commentary ( Pesher ) on Genesis C ( 4 Q254 ) . ( 2 ) The term r ˁ dwdyh = ra ˁ adudiyya and the phrase b ˀ š b ˁ wra = bā ˁ ora , both found in Apocryphal Pentateuch B ( 4 Q377 ) . After dealing with some aspects of 4 Q377 and its relation to the biblical text, I deal with the linguistic pattern and meaning of these two rare words .
