Abstract

Policy Paper 204 | A New Structure for the Government iv the services supplied to citizens, information management and mediation, damage to the work of the Knesset and the relations between the branches of government, and erosion of public trust as a result of governmental instability and the lack of public visibility and accountability . The study reviews the failure of attempts to reduce the number of ministries over the years, particularly in the past three decades . It identifies in detail the dictates and constraints stemming from Israel’s political and coalitionary context, in terms of the process of forming governments and the need to provide ministerial positions for government members .
