Rachel Sukman The "heavenly" building of the Student Learning Center at Ryerson University , officially opened in February 2015 , was built with state-of-the-art technology and designed to adapt itself to various learning and instructional modes On a clear autumn day it seemed as though the Toronto sky had descended onto Yonge Street in the form of an 8-story building . In the encounter between the poetic architecture and the sky-blue , the azure shades blended into the angular building , and the blue ceilings fused to generate a checked work of bluish and purplish geometric forms . All this beauty is the result of a partnership between two architectural firms : Toronto-based Zeidler and Oslo-based Sn ? hetta . The appearance of the Student Learning Center ( SLC ) , which resembles a white cloud with gray-blue spots , was thrilling from the very first sight , an impression which was reinforced as we approached .
