Janet Bellotto "The Lure": A Self- Portrait of an Artist

Bellotto , based in Dubai and Toronto , exhibited a sensuous , seductive , and romantic exhibition . While "The Lure " obviously appeals to the visual and olfactory senses , the ideas the artist embraces , highly conceptual in nature , beg both ht and contemplation . Using flowers as a metaphor , each of Bellotto ' s works reveals the power of fragrance to history , trigger memory , and awaken our emotions . We are continually reminded that fragrances , manufactured natural , are elements that we use to change our mood , and create a self-portrait , one that tells us and others who are , and in many cases , who we want to be .
