ABSTRACTS Between Eretz-Yisrael and Bavel - New Leaves from Pirqoi ben Baboi Neil Danzig The early medieval work Pirqoi ben Baboi , known to us by the name ofits author , was written by a Babylonian rabbi in the 9 th century and reconstructed from pages found amongst the riches of the Cairo Genizah . This epistle , addressed to the Jewish community of Qayrawan ( Tunisia ) , contains a detailed accounting of some one dozen legal issues in which the author derides that community ^ practice according to the traditions of Eretz-Yisrael . In this article , several new leaves from this important work are published , together with analyses of the topics contained therein , adding information primarily from the two Talmudim and geonic legal texts .
