And little by little, they ask them to become students, not just kids . And they see through them to identify points of strength . And they see that they are still healthy . Three months go by, and an invitation arises, for them to go and see . To smell, to feel, To see the neighborhood, The piles of roof tiles, What still exists, what’s gone, The home turned battlefield . Courageously the invitation is accepted . IF WE'LL BE 73 And those open hearts come to see . And the next day they will meet the children again, but it will be different . And little by little they will connect the sooty dots . And little by little they brace themselves and go back to being teachers . All we can do is see you seeing them, and thank you .
