Abstract

It turns out that a majority of non - voters % 20 of those eligible ) are consciously and deliberately refraining % 30 – % 20 ( from voting . This is a tactical step aimed at conveying a message : Arab citizens yearn for political influence but under the present circumstances most of them simply have nowhere to turn . It was also found that the Nation State Law enacted in the summer of 2018 does not directly affect Arabs’ voting considerations, but the struggle to amend ( or repeal ) the law is on their political agenda, at least in the long term . Arab citizens want direct access to government and a sense of belonging to the state .
