On a national level , the impact of Mexico ’ s socioeconomic crises ( which began in the seventies ) on the economic well - being of Jewish families must be analyzed . To what degree was religion used as a coping mechanism by many of them ? From an international perspective , the effect of globalization and its resulting economic and cultural openness should be examined .
