Revital Ben-Asher Peretz Exhibitions–––Tel Aviv Flimsy : Naama Oppenheim Curator : Revital Ben-Asher Peretz The Artists House , Tel Aviv 23 June – 16 July 2016 Naama Oppenheim’s first solo exhibition was preceded by what may be termed an “ extra-artistic" route . She started her career in New York when , in her 30 s , she opened a successful ceramics studio , where her unique approach to material and craft took root . The fifth decade of her life brought maturity , willingness , necessity , keenness , and daring with it , and all these led to a transition from the applied ceramic object to the conceptual world , the natural habitat of contemporary art . Oppenheim’s exhibition at the Artists House marks her emergence as a practicing artist . * * * The smell of salt hangs in the air . Western winds blow .
