Rivka Rass The artist links his s'mother past life , a working woman who moved from the field to the factory and vice versa , to the changes that occurred in the Taiwanese clothing industry . Production Line ( Made in China & Made in Taiwan ) is a combination of two projects , two sights and two exhibitions , and presents a crew of seamstresses , cutters , pressers , etc ,. in a production line of denim shirts . Therefore , the work addresses history , culture , economics , and the relations between production and consumption . In the wake of globalization and the close links between East and West , these borders have become blurred . Local art has acquired a new type of wealth , and it is now more versatile than ever . * Following the visit to the four biennials in Korea and Taiwan I have realized the great power held by countries with a clear cultural agenda , countries which spare no financial and other resources in producing artistic events .
