?Mana Contemporary: An Artist's Utopia

Rivka Rass Mana Contemporary , the new media-multi center for art in Jersey City , New Jersey , is so huge that even in American terms it is overwhelming . The an–center immense , -six ֳ oor industrial building , that can easily hide a ֳ eet of trucks , is already fully active and offers size-museum galleries , 110 artist studios already occupied ( and intended to rise to 250 studios next year ) , a print workshop , a photography lab , framing services , foundry , and storage space for art works , as well as professional art everything–delivery that artists need for their work . Everything under one roof . I took the PATH train going to New Jersey , and in spite of my Jersey–hesitations city is not exactly known as an art I–city stood in front of the renovated industrial building stunned . A tall and impressive polished stainless steel sculpture by German artist Ewerdt Hilgemann towered before me .
