Auriol Drummond Hay [ 1845–1785 )] שירת כקונסול בריטניה בטנג'יר מ 1829 עד יום מותו . כאן מובא המסמך הדיפלומטי היחיד המצוי הנוגע לפרשת סול חשואל . אנו מביאים אותו בשפת המקור ובתרגום מילולי לעברית : Monday 9 June 1834 Information is received this afternoon of a Jewess named Sol Hatchwell , only between fourteen and fifteen years old , having been beheaded at Faz , by order of the Sultan , under a judgment of the Oolamma , for having abnegg gated Islamism after her recently renegading from the Faith of her fathers , in consequence of some domestic quarrel , in which her mother had ( it is said ) beaten her severely . This unhappy young woman was residing with her family at this place ; her s'father name is Haim Hatchuel , who had been for many years and until within these few months ( when the beginning of his s'child misery took place ) residing as a huckster in Gibraltar .
