Buky Schwartz's Final Journey

Rivka Rass A long line of human figures wrapped in long loose Arabic robes ( jellabiyas ) advances along the wadi on the ancient road used for millennia by pilgrims walking from Egypt through the Sinai desert on to Eilat , Aqaba , and finally–Mecca . One hundred and three iron figures walk silently along Wadi Shachmon , north of Eilat , with the barren desert mountains rising behind them , and the Red Sea glittering in front . If you look for the name of the artist or landscape architect who designed the project , you will not find it , as if the vast work involved in reclaiming the wadi and the ancient pilgrims ' road , and in producing the countless figures in the caravan , was performed by a mysterious hand . Not a plaque , not a word of credit to the artists or any mention of the work's historical background . The pilgrims are anonymous , saluting the distant past while walking in historic stillness , and the artist who created them is likewise anonymous . Since I couldn't intervie...  אל הספר
