עקרונות האי-ודאות

initially appear random – ultimately form an intricately interconnected world view , expressed in an idiosyncratic inner monologue . When the dancers retire to the sides of the stage , the writer and choreographer take over . Both are now sitting inside the narrow closet , its double door wide open . The closet rolls to center stage . They talk . What are they talking about ? Will their talk give us a clue as to the obscure meaning of The Principles of Uncertainty as conceived by Kalman ? Not quite . She talks about the weather , about everyday occurrences , about her drawings , as we watch a mysterious hand drawing whimsical drawings and images on the rear screen . Both writer and choreographer get up and try a sweet little dance , to the audience ' s delight . Kalman is elegant , bright , and very human . She opened her TED talk with a little confession : “ I ’ m trying to figur e out two very simple things : how to live and how to die , period . That ' s all I ' m trying to do , all day long . " I was glad that the performance focused on the first , how to live , and on the joy of living . How important these days , when we dedicate a large part of our life to the search for certainty , equating certainty with happiness . ✦ Maira Kalman ) writer - designer ( and John Heginbotham choreographer ( , The ( Principles of Uncertainty , Brooklyn Academy of Music BAM ( , New York , 2017 , ( photos : Rebecca Greenfi eld מיירה קלמן ( כותבת ומעצבת ) וג ' ון הגינבוטהאם ( כוריאוגרף ) , עקרונות האי - ודאות , , 2017 האקדמיה למוזיקה של ברוקלין ( , ( BAM ניו יורק , צילום : רבקה גרינפילד
