Eszter Susán [ * 152 ] The purpose of this paper is to provide a closer look at this recent trend, and consider it in terms of such questions as : What were its key elements, what has shaped it and how did it evolve until today ? In my analysis I will focus on the Jewish young adult organization MAROM Budapest which has been at the forefront of this movement in the past two decades . The case of MAROM may be of special interest within the field of Jewish education and community organizing because MAROM has effectively reached out and engaged young adult Jews who were non - affiliated with any Jewish organization and had rarely had any Jewish education at home . This type of outreach activity, especially engaging young people, has been a long - time interest of almost all Jewish organizations . In this paper, I will argue that the emergence and development of MAROM was closely connected with its use of public space, and especially the historic Jewish Quarter of Budapest .
