AttilA Gidó [ * 40 ] Consequently, my paper deals with a period when only the general regulations of the Hungarian Second anti - Jewish Law were in effect in this territory . I will present the implementation of the anti - Jewish measures in this region, their effects on Northern Transylvanian Jewish society, and the beginnings of exclusion from Hungarian society . Historical and social frameworks According to the Romanian census of 1930, Transylvania had 5,548,363 inhabitants . Of these, 3,207,880 ( 57 . 8 % ) declared themselves ethnic Romanians, 1,353,276 ( 24 . 4 % ) Hungarians, and 178,699 ( 3 . 2 % ) Jewish .
